The Institute aims to advance knowledge, mutual understanding and respect, and cooperation amongst people from diverse backgrounds, and thus serve all humanity, without discrimination, based on the perspectives inspired by the life and works of the distinguished contemporary scholar and civic leader Fethullah Gülen.
Members of the world’s diverse faiths, languages, cultures and civilizations find themselves increasingly interdependent. In this interconnected world, just as information and solutions spread faster, so do misinformation and conflicts. Our vision is to put the advanced means of communication, media and mobility in the service of social harmony. We envision a world community where the achievements of human social civilization surpass the achievements of science and technology.
The goals of the Gülen Institute are to:
• Contribute toward cooperative relationships among citizens living in diverse local communities, and among members of the world’s various cultures, faiths and civilizations.
• Provide opportunities for people to gather around high human values, work toward shared hopes and against shared concerns. • Explore the positive roles education can play in fostering a global culture of social harmony and empathic acceptance of others in their respective positions.
In pursuit of these goals, the Gülen Institute organizes academic as well as public events, publishes scientific and popular works, and supports students and academics with resources.
