Fethullah Gülen’s works can be classified in two main genres: recorded speeches and books. The former means the published collections of audiotapes and visual materials out of his sermons and conversations of decades. His books mainly split two kinds: First, the compilations of his lead articles published at the periodicals of the movement. The contents of this kind are literary analyses on concepts mostly about human values and way of service, an exemplary volume of which was translated to English as The Statue of Our Souls. Second, the transcriptional editions of some of his serial preaches and conversations, such as the extensive analysis on the Prophet’s life. These two kinds amount to more than fifty books so far. Two books can be considered outside the given outlook. One is the compilation of his poems, entitled Kırık Mızrap (meaning, The Broken Plectrum), which is specially appealed by composers for lyrics. The other is his masterpiece, the only book that Gülen systematically authored though expanded to years and fragmentally published at the famous Turkish magazine, Sızıntı, and its English version, The Fountain, which was translated to English as Emerald Hills of the Heart. This latter often counts already among the classics of Sufi literature. Gülen’s books, totally called Diamond Books, can be distinguished even by their challenging titles and insightful cover designs. Only several of them have been translated to English and few to some other languages. Below is a chronological list of his publications in English:
